Sigmar Polke’s contribution to the edition Weekend (EB32) consists of three offset prints on cardboard, created from photographs taken by Polke in Hamburg in 1970. All the prints show nudes of Polke’s partner at the time, Mariette Althaus. Depicting moments of private pleasure, the prints, like the other graphic contributions to the Weekend suitcase, are thematically dedicated to the weekend. The prints were each printed in an edition of 95 copies and seven proofs by Hentrich in Berlin. All sheets are signed and numbered. During the printing process, several additional prints of the original edition were also produced, which were later numbered and certified on the reverse by the publisher.
