Offset print by Sejla Kameric, A black and white photo of the forearms and hands of a woman on a linen cloth. The hands are placed one inside the other. On the inside of the right wrist is a stamp that reads FREI

Sejla Kamerić’s politically motivated practice stems from her engagement with a violent past, but at the same time goes beyond it: for the Sarajevo-born artist, art is not an goal in itself, but a means of self-identification and communication.
FREI began in 2004 as a public action for CTM – Club Transmediale, a festival for electronic music and related visual art in Berlin. Every evening during the festival, visitors to the events were marked with the word “Frei” instead of stamps with the names of the clubs. The offset print FREI is Kamerić’s contribution to the graphic portfolio Love It or Leave It (EB66).
