A gray plastic drawer with editions by Imi Giese and Imi Knoebel. The drawer contains a plastic number 20 and a stack of glued wood that fills half of the drawer.

    Imi Giese’s contribution to the edition En Bloc (EB20) consists of black plastic numbers, which are attached to the left half of the drawer and correspond in consecutive numbering to the number of the respective exemplar of the edition. Giese shares the drawer with his close friend and colleague Imi Knoebel. In reference to their shared studio Raum 19 at the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf, the drawer is also conceived as a kind of room, the other side of which is completely filled with stacked and glued wood by Knoebel. Giese also used the same numbers in his exhibition in the Blockade ’69 exhibition series at Galerie René Block a year earlier to determine and mark the “24 important points in the gallery” on the walls and floor.
