Etching by Danica Dakic. 3 drawings on a white background in slightly contrasting circles: two hands holding a photograph, fragmented figures and a female figure

The etching suggests three bubbles in which set pieces of a cryptic narration are enclosed: two hands hold a photograph, fragmented figures point to non-Western cultures and different levels of time. Danica Dakić describes her work as follows: “The artist’s father’s family came from the Cetinje region, but their past is lost. The print is an exploration of the motif of her own biography – a mystery that cannot be solved.”1
