Edition by Ceal Floyer. A Plexiglas cube against a dark gray background. Inside the cube is a ball of white paper ribbon.

Ceal Floyer’s works are materialized ideas that are characterized by a simultaneously minimalist and literally precise implementation. Thus, the multiple A4 (Reconnected) is relatively simple in its production, but surprisingly complex in its effect. A white A4 sheet was inserted into a standard shredder and shredded into even strips. These were stapled together end to end to form a long white ribbon that forms a loose ball in a small space. A three-dimensional object is created from a two-dimensional sheet. The airy structure is displayed in a transparent acrylic glass cube with a volume of 20 cubic centimeters on a white base. The surprising length of the white paper ribbon, which winds spatially in more or less random constellations without a recognizable beginning or a visible end, belies its original state as a sheet of A4 paper. The compression in the cube simultaneously makes the length of the strip immeasurable, undermining the standardization of form and size specified in the title and reducing it to absurdity.
