The artist’s book Rainproof Ideas provides an overview of the Hungarian artist’s typewriter graphics from 1971 to 1976 and 1994. Endre Tót, best known for his mail art and street actions in the context of the Fluxus movement, uses typewriter typography to create humorous conceptual graphics in which he superimposes image, text and drawing layers. The repeated use of the slash (/), which has become a trademark, lends itself to the depiction of omnipresent rain showers. “Gladly dedicated to everybody nobody and me in the rain” writes Tót at the beginning under his laughing portrait photo covered with / / /.
