    The Bottled Memories 1-5 are Jenny Watson’s contribution to the print portfolio Aus Australien (EB57). The five prints represent different variations on one theme: Each of the sheets shows a hand-painted bottle of different shape, designed in childlike imagery, with a scene from Watson’s memory placed on the bottom. It is as if the memories depicted have settled on the bottom of the bottle like sediment. Seemingly random, differently designed letters and other elements float above it, rising to the surface like air bubbles. The motifs were created using etching and aquatint, the outlines of the bottles and, in one case, the contents were colored by hand in different colors by the artist.
