The works of the painter Vivienne Shark-LeWitt tell of the relationships between the sexes, of domestic life, trivial misadventures and poetic and slightly surreal phenomena. The works are mostly characterized by humour, worked in small format or as vignettes and feature references to literature, Christian iconography or art theory. For the graphic portfolio Aus Australien (EB57), Shark-LeWitt created five soft-ground etchings whose execution is reminiscent of illustrations from the 1950s.
