Multiple by Wolf Vostell. A gray plastic drawer is filled with rice. A metal “H” lies on top of the rice and is connected by a string under the rice to an alarm siren, which also lies on top of the rice

In 1969, Wolf Vostell created the sculpture Radar Alarm F, a bicycle with a television set on the luggage rack, from whose handlebars hangs a shopping net filled with 40 sirens. The alarm sirens, which can be activated by pulling out metal pins, are also used in Vostell’s contribution Radar Alarm for the rolling cabinet En Bloc (EB20) from the same year. In the drawer of the cabinet, which is filled with a kilogram of rice, lies the alarm system, to whose metal pin a cord is attached. The string connects the electronic device to the aluminum letter H, which is also on the rice, and is attached to the drawer under the rice with a sticking plaster signed by the artist. If the H were to be stolen, the alarm siren would be triggered.
